How to Use a Focus Timer

A focus timer works best when the duration is clear and the interface becomes less interesting than the task itself.

Start with a realistic block

Twenty five minutes is common, but shorter or longer blocks can be better depending on the task. Pick a duration you can actually protect from interruptions.

Use fullscreen when it helps

A large remaining time can create a useful boundary for a work session without requiring you to keep checking a small toolbar timer.

Make the break deliberate

When the timer ends, stop the alarm and choose whether to take a short break or begin another block intentionally.

Ready to try it?

Open the matching browser tool and switch into fullscreen when you want the display to take over.
